 Ben Liney is an artist based in Altona, working on the lands of the Boonwurrong. Working with in oil on canvas, he uses a restrained palette and detailed brushwork to explore the quiet presence of the landscape.

Liney’s process is grounded in observation. He is drawn to the way enduring elements of the natural world hold subtle traces of transformation—growth, erosion, weather and time. His paintings invite a slower, more attentive way of seeing, opening space to consider our relationship with landscape and place.

Liney has been selected for the John Leslie Art Prize 2026, National Emerging Art Prize 2025, and Flinders Lane Gallery Exploration 2026.
